Crisis can take on many forms for many people.

These are some common types:

  • Family Crises

  • Bullying

  • Suicidal Thoughts

  • Psychosis

  • Insufficient Medication Management

Let us help! We have a nurse and crisis techs at the center 24 hours a day. Our staff is caring professionals who are ready to serve the community. If you need therapy, psychiatry, or community services, the center will help you with those services at Siouxland Mental Health or preferred agency.

WHO THIS PROGRAM IS FOR

This service is appropriate for those whose mental health symptoms can be stabilized quickly so the individual(s) can safely return to the community. This voluntary service is for those that do not require hospitalization but need assistance and medical oversight to prevent symptom exacerbation.

Individuals are served on a voluntary basis and must be 18 or above. Also, they also need to be a resident of Iowa. Please call if you have any questions about a client outside this demographic as private pay options are available.

Siouxland Mental Health Crisis Center Common Area

Designated Access Center

A safe and secure location for those experiencing a decreased level of functioning due to mental health with or without substance use disorder. Programs are intended as short-term, intensive, and recovery-oriented for those in need of screening, assessment, services or treatment related to a mental health crisis that do not have immediate access to alternative, safe and effective services. Interdisciplinary care includes but is not limited to intake assessment and screening, comprehensive person-centered mental health and substance use disorder assessments and linkage to long-term treatment as needed, treatment and discharge planning, psychiatric care, medication management, peer support, linkage to physical health care as needed, and care coordination to navigate, refer and link to community resources. Eligibility is determined by a standardized pre-admission screening to ensure programs are appropriate and adequate to the individual’s needs and that the individual is not in need of service greater than what the programs can provide.

 Subacute Mental Healthcare 

Crisis Stabilization Residential Services 

COMPREHENSIVE CARE

Our Crisis Center is committed to providing comprehensive care in a safe, confidential, and comfortable environment.  Our services include: 

  • Crisis screening and assessment  

  • 24/7 access to a medical and mental health professional for consultation

  • Medication management and administration

  • Short-term therapeutic and skill-building programming through individual and group sessions

  • Care coordination to include a stabilization plan, action plan, treatment summary, and referrals to appropriate community resources

  • Peer Support 

  • Discharge planning and follow-up services

​We want our patients to be informed and engaged participants in their treatment experience while they are here.   Individuals are served on a voluntary basis and must be 18 or above.  Also they also need to be a resident of Iowa.  Please call if you have any questions about a client outside this demographic, as private pay options are available.  Referrals are accepted by law enforcement, outside providers, family, and by one’s self.  An individual must meet admission requirements before they are accepted into any of the programs.
